Delete Your Account and Data
Method 1 — From Inside the App (recommended)
Open the DuoUp app → Settings → Delete Account. As soon as you confirm, your account is deactivated: other users can no longer see you, your listings disappear from the feed, and you can't create new matches or applications.
Method 2 — If You No Longer Have the App
Email contact@duoup-app.com from the address registered to your account, stating that you want your account deleted. Once we verify the request, we deactivate your account on your behalf.
What Happens?
- From the moment your account is deactivated, a 30-day grace period applies. If you log back in during this period, your account is automatically restored.
- Once the 30 days pass, your account is permanently anonymized: your email address, name, password, profile photo, and birth date are removed; your notification/device records and friendships are deleted.
- History you shared with other users (such as matches, messages, or ratings) may remain on their side, but it can no longer be linked back to you — your account appears as an anonymized user.
How Long Does It Take?
Deletion requests made inside the app take effect immediately (deactivation); permanent deletion happens automatically after 30 days. Requests sent by email are processed within a reasonable timeframe.
